The annual fashion extravaganza CENTRESTAGE will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 3 to 6 September, featuring some 260 brands from 24 countries and regions.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this year’s event promises to dazzle both trade buyers and public visitors with an unprecedented number of fashion parades and a start-studded lineup of local and international designers.
The opening event CENTRESTAGE ELITES will take place at the contemporary art museum M+ in West Kowloon on 1 September and feature a solo couture show by Guo Pei, the first Chinese designer invited to join the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
Guo will unveil 30 exquisite couture pieces under the theme "Gilternity: An Everlasting Radiance", inspired by molten gold. Her collection blends traditional craftsmanship with modern art, showcasing both imaginative artistry and technical brilliance.
Adding a local touch, students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University will collaborate on the opening piece, symbolising a fusion of tradition and innovation.
The parade will be livestreamed on the CENTRESTAGE website and Instagram, and HKTDC channels including YouTube and Facebook. On 4 September, Guo Pei will host a masterclass for design students, offering personal insights into her creative process and design philosophy.
Global designers and local flavours on show
This year’s CENTRESTAGE will shine a spotlight on British designers with the UK acting as the exhibition’s Partner Country.
Fashion maestro Jimmy Choo will attend CENTRESTAGE in person and present emerging designers from the London-based Jimmy Choo Academy.
The Czechia pavilion will feature personalised fashion labels that incorporate art-glass design, while the Japan pavilion will spotlight emerging designers and brands.
The Thailand pavilion will feature more than 40 brands while other booths at the fair will display brands from South Korea, Singapore and other countries.
Not to be outdone, local designers will be featured in the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show on 3 September under the theme "A Decade in Design: What is Seen? What is Felt?". Four Hong Kong designer brands – ANGUS TSUI, ARTY:ACTIVE, IP AXIS INDUSTRIALSTUDIO and selfFab. – will showcase their innovative collections, merging visual impact and emotional narrative to spotlight the unique creativity of Hong Kong fashion design.
The exhibition will comprise six thematic zones celebrating diverse facets of fashion, from artisanal craftsmanship and avant-garde design to youth-driven streetwear and sustainable innovation. Highlights include the debut Accessories Zone, the eco-focused Circular Fashion Zone with the Redress Design Award Final, and a spotlight on activewear, heritage techniques, and emerging urban trends.
At the grand finale on 6 September winners of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest will be announced in four categories: Best in Show, Excellence Award, Best Art Direction and My Favourite Collection. Dedicated to discovering and nurturing new local talent, the awards are judged by an expert panel including Charles Jeffrey, the designer behind the London label Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, and through a public vote.
CENTRESTAGE will be staged in parallel with the HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and Salon de TIME, with visitors able to view the latest products from some 400 watch and fashion brands at the same venue.
Buyers attending the fairs include representatives from major multi-brand stores such as WDLT 117 Apparel Inc. from Canada, Zalora from Indonesia, Sugar Srl from Italy and Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores from Japan.
